Domaine Plageoles has been in the business in Gaillac for 6 generations. In the 1970s Robert Plageoles made the bold step to replant the then bland International varieties with their long lost peers varieties such as variations of Mauzac amongst Muscadelle and Côt, in their 28 ha of vineyards in the foothills of the Massif Central Mountains. Soils here are limestone, clay, and marl. Wild yeasts are used to encouage fermentation and no corrective chemicals in the winery, The pair are certified organic but work naturally.
